After building a career in design as a freelancer, he joined IGNITE in 2024. As a web designer and director at IGNITE, he focuses on building client websites and developing project proposals, leveraging Webflow — a no-code tool gaining worldwide attention — to create innovative designs for both domestic and international audiences. Drawing on his freelance experience, he continues to take on new challenges every day, striving to serve as a bridge between Japan and the world.

What made you join IGNITE?

It started when Kosuge offered me the opportunity. I had already been working with IGNITE as a freelancer, and when I was invited to join full-time, I decided to take the leap.

Another major reason was my interest in international projects. I had previously worked only with Japanese clients, and I wanted to advance my career by getting involved in projects with overseas clients.

Tell us about your current role.

I handle website design for clients, site development using Webflow, and planning IGNITE's service offerings.

Webflow is an advanced tool gaining attention worldwide that allows you to visually compose designs. It's known for its efficiency — tasks that used to take seven days can be completed in about three. It's still not widely adopted in Japan, so I'd like to help change that.

Since joining, I've become increasingly involved in marketing tasks alongside design work. There's a lot to learn and it can feel overwhelming at times, but my competitive nature helps me push through. During my freelance days, I experienced having my proposed designs rejected by clients, and that taught me the importance of always thinking from the user's perspective. When I take on a project, I want to do it right and create something polished. I'm particularly skilled at designing websites that drive traffic and attract customers.

What's the best part about working at IGNITE?

The sense of accomplishment when you master something you couldn't do before is incredibly rewarding. I've grown in both design and marketing, and above all, it leads to real career advancement.

One of the most fulfilling moments was collaborating with the team to build IGNITE's service website. In my previous work, I handled everything on my own, but at IGNITE we prioritize efficiency and work as a team, which makes everything much smoother.

Another great thing about IGNITE is that every member brings their own individual strengths. Being in an environment where so many people are driven toward their goals and aiming high — that energy is motivating and makes me want to keep growing.

What are your future goals?

I want to grow the Webflow user base in Japan, build websites for international clients, and support Japanese companies expanding overseas. Through the power of design, I aim to create a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world.

To achieve that, I'm working hard on improving my English and deepening my expertise in Webflow. Since Webflow's interface is in English, I'd also like to leverage Japanese community sites and resources to help promote its adoption in Japan.

One challenge I'm tackling is that design conventions in Japan and overseas are quite different, so I need to continuously refine my design skills to work effectively across both.

A message for potential applicants.

Every day is busy, and there may be challenges at first, but it will absolutely lead to personal growth and career advancement. If that sounds like you, or if you want to contribute through work connected to the international stage, we'd love to hear from you.
