What made you join IGNITE?
I was with the president, Mr. Kosuge, at my previous job. My previous job was also at a marketing company, and I've always been called out by Mr. Kosuge. I just got married and had children soon, so it wasn't easy to get through. At that time, the division I was in was disbanded once, so I thought it would be a good time, quit my previous job, and decided to join the company because Mr. Kosuge called out to me.
I'm the type that doesn't have much interest in large companies, and I wanted to go to a smaller company and be in a position where I have authority. This is because now there is a huge increase in the number of things that each individual can do. Even small and medium-sized enterprises can now have resources that until now they could not have unless they were large companies. There is also internet now, and if you use Google or Microsoft, you can easily install it, and such a wonderful system is offered at a low price. Additionally, it is now possible to do everything using AI. I thought my life would be richer if I improved my individual skills, so I calculated backwards how to develop my own personal skills.
I've been interested in overseas since I was little, and I became even more interested after experiencing study abroad and working holidays. I was also convinced that I wouldn't notice when I was in Japan, and that when I was overseas, Japan's advanced level, high level of people, and why inbound traffic to Japan was increasing. I became aware of the uniqueness of Japan, which led to my interest in having more relationships with foreign countries.
Also, I graduated from the Faculty of Economics at university, and I was interested in economics. When I thought about the relationship with money, I began to think that marketing is important. I also experienced sales positions, but after selling products, I couldn't feel much results, so I needed to know the mechanism. The mechanism is SEO, website construction, and marketing, in other words, advertising, etc. I wanted to master marketing even more.
Please tell me about your current work
The current business content spans a wide range, and is broadly divided into management tasks and marketing tasks.
Management tasks also consider and respond to loans and fund raising, such as how to allocate resources for so-called human resources, design an organization and assign work to, who is carrying out the project, and how to structure it. There are also tasks related to recruitment.
In terms of marketing tasks, for example, in advertising management, we do media policy and data analysis on how to take SEO measures. After that, there are a lot of things, such as preparing proposals, dealing with customers, translation tasks, etc.
What I keep in mind is to create a framework. IGNITE, for example, is divided into full-time employees and part-time employees, but it's a pretty special organization. Most companies have full-time employees, but when Ignite and HyBlade are combined, there are more part-time employees than full-time employees. I think there are twice as many part-time workers or more. In order for those people to work in an easy-to-understand manner, I am very conscious of creating a framework.
For example, what is the appeal of working at IGNITE when it comes to interviews like this? I'm asking you to make a headline like this for any task. If you do that, you can work within the framework. It's difficult no matter how smart a person is when you let them have complete freedom. If you don't know what the person giving instructions is looking for, you can't move, right? I use my brain so much that time doesn't go by without actually understanding it, or worrying about whether it's okay to listen to this person even though I want to listen to it because I don't really understand the meaning of this person's intentions. I try to let people work freely within the framework, being conscious of breaking it down in detail or making headlines.
What is the appeal of working at IGNITE?
There are no barriers between tasks, so it's a place where you can learn a variety of skills. For example, there are no barriers between tasks, so it's not often that you only have to do this task. You'll be asked to do a lot of different tasks, so I think it would be difficult to do this and that, but looking back, I think my skills will improve a lot. Since various tasks can be performed in a cross-cutting manner, I think it is attractive to be able to challenge various things and create skills.
Also, the fact that it is a workplace where English can be used is one of the attractions. I think the task of reading, understanding, and translating English explanations will come. I don't think there are many others in Kansai.
After that, I think the appeal of working at IGNITE is that you can acquire marketing knowledge and be able to do marketing while putting it into practice. There aren't many companies in the field of advertising or marketing, so I think it's easy to gain knowledge. There are some major companies and small and medium-sized enterprises that do marketing while practicing, but I don't think it's often possible to manage spreadsheets and operate SNS while doing advertising and marketing.
What are your future challenges and goals?
It's about making it structured. I would like to make sure that products and services are customized.
After all, the current issue is that all products and services have been customized. For example, we make proposals tailored to each customer. Therefore, centralization is not possible. Then it takes time to make each proposal. It's the same as if it takes time = costs. There are parts where this is unavoidable because the needs of different customers differ, but I would like to unify and systematize it as much as possible. In other words, I want to fix what I sell to some extent. By doing so, I think it will be structured and sales will increase even more. By systematizing it, the time cost per project is lowered and sales are maximized. In other words, the issue is that the number of jobs you can get will increase, so you will be able to make even more profit.
Right now, it's made up of manpower. Kosuge, I, and the other members all go around because there are people, but if someone leaves, the company won't run. I think we must try to run the company regardless of the person. The goal is to create a system that is completely structured and can rotate even when there are no people.
Personally speaking, I would like to be able to live overseas. I can go anywhere as long as I have an internet connection, so I'm wondering if it can be realized somehow if it is structured. I want to go to various places to enjoy my life even more. For example, wouldn't it be interesting to live in various countries for 1 year at a time? The center is Japan, but products are imported from New Zealand, and it seems that beauty cosmetics are also popular from Thailand, so I think it is possible to import low price products and sell them, etc. I want to set aside a solid amount of time while doing that kind of thing.
Message to those considering applying
I think they are people who want to improve their skills, people who can study, and people who can break down the barriers between work and play. If you're someone who wants to improve your skills or increase your potential, I think it's definitely for you. On the other hand, there are also many things that are required, so I don't think you'll be able to follow suit if you're not eager to study. For example, I think people who don't have a barrier between work and play are suitable. I think it would be tough if you don't have that level of desire for knowledge, such as gathering information as a refreshment or doing AI research. On the other hand of freedom, there is no such thing as having to buy books, but I think people who want to pay that much money to obtain knowledge are suitable.
Conversely, I don't think people who are suited to it are people who think they can be given anything. As is the case with any job, I think it would be nice to have someone who can use IGNITE as a springboard.
